When most people think about sexual health education, reproductive choice, breakups, sexual assault, and other meaningful issues regarding sex they usually think of women. And if you look at websites discussing this stuff you'll almost always find female writers, readers and commenters. Scarleteen is no exception. A site giving young adults a huge amount of sex-related  information in a straight-forward and accessible way, Scarleteen has just added a huge amount of content aimed at male readers.

Maybe start by reading this gender primer. Or how about an article about the role boys and men can play in preventing rape? What do guys want to know about penis size? An unbiased exploration of the pluses and minuses of pornography?

Obviously they don't cover everything guys want or need to know about healthy sexuality but what a great start.

I'm happy to say I made this referral - Scarleteen to MASC/Tuval! Here's to more gender equitable sex ed building!

Tuval: just saw this through our referrer logs. Thanks!

That content has actually already been there, we're just highlighting it right now. And the biggest reason we don't have as many male writers as female is simply that we get so few offering to write or volunteer for us.

So, by all means, if you or anyone you know would like to work on some content for or with us, please let me know! We always want more, but we are at the mercy of male writers stepping up to contribute. :)

Heather,
thanks for writing in and clarifying that the guys content was already on your site before.
I definitely didn't mean to imply that the lack of male engagement was Scarleteen's fault.
We here at masc and elswewhere have a lot of thinking and work to do around why guys are not engaging in issues of sexual health, our own and other people's.
Thanks for helping us spotlight this major gap.
